Trip Report: Silver Sky Aviation
Jason — Sat, 12/15/2007 - 17:19
During my recent business trip to Scottsdale, I took the opportunity to visit Silver Sky Aviation, a company I'd seen on the web as offering some fun looking aircraft. Sky, the owner, gave me the grand tour and I found out that there is a lot more to this company than I thought!
In my mind, the new Sport Pilot rule has two hang-ups right now. First, it's tough to figure out exactly how I fit into the regulations. Second, I can't seem to find a place that has Light Sport Aircraft available for training or rental. The EAA has a great website explaining some of the regulations and listing the aircraft that are out there, but it took a trip to Silver Sky Aviation to finally see the big picture.
The article I wrote about this spans several pages because my visit with Sky produced in incredible amount of very valuable information. If you are interested in LSAs, flight training, kit aircraft, or an IFR certified normal category aircraft (not an LSA) for under $150K, I highly recommend reading on.
Some of what I'm writing might sound like a paid advertisement for any of several companies. I wouldn't complain if it was, but that's not the case. I have no intention of showing favoritism to these companies either. Silver Sky Aviation was a convenient target and I'm glad I didn't pass up the chance to check it out. If there is any other aviation related company out there that would like AviationBull to visit and write a story, please let us know. We're out to do what it takes to spread aviation news.
That being said, click here or on the link below to read more about what I found at a place I consider to be Sport Pilot Paradise.
