A Domestic, 5th Generation, Iranian Fighter

Both the Tehran Times and the Iran Focus have articles today announcing the start of production of a stealthy, 5th generation, Iranian fighter. If their aircraft is as good as this limited information suggests, it would be a valuable upgrade to their somewhat outdated air forces.

This aircraft would complement their Saeqeh, a primarily air to ground fighter that was announced within the last couple years. As the Chinese article and the pictures below suggest, the Saeqeh looks strikingly like an American F-5 Tiger that grew an extra vertical stabilizer. (Doesn't it...thin wings, speed brakes, landing gear and doors, wide nose, canopy?)

If an F-5 copy is the best they can do for their first domestic fighter, I'll be very interested to see what they've come up with for their first stealth fighter aircraft. We'll let you know when we find some pictures.
