SeaMax - 10 Years of Amphibian LSA

Jason — Thu, 11/05/2009 - 01:19

If you're looking for a proven, fun S-LSA that you can take anywhere you should know that you don't have to wait. SeaMax USA has the perfect aircraft for instant gratification of your desires. They just announced the start of their 10th anniversary celebrations. Their M22 is a certified S-LSA and there are 98 of them flying all over the world.

We've covered quite a bit about the Icon A5, another amphibious entry to the LSA market. However, anyone wanting an A5 will still be waiting for a few years. It's still in development and testing. On the other hand, the SeaMax M22 is ready to go now. It has been proven all over the world over the last decade and it is just as versatile as the A5 promises to be.

The SeaMax features a design based on CAD and research. It's made specifically to be easy and fun to fly on the land or water. It has retractable landing gear for efficient cruising, awesome visibility, and a trusted Rotax 912 motor in a safe pusher configuration.

The pictures here show that this plane is ready to go anywhere...from your favorite lake or river to a little, out of the way dirt strip. This plane absolutely exemplifies the fun that we're looking for in sport aviation, though it seems like it'd make a great cross country cruiser or amphibious trainer as well.

If you're interested in checking out an amphibious S-LSA that you can take home today, you should stop by booth 1141 at the upcoming AOPA Summit. Just watch out, it'll be pretty tempting not to order one on the spot!
