Cheetah XLS Scores SLSA Certification

The Cheetah XLS just became the latest SLSA to gain certification and we couldn't be more excited for them. Jason and I had a chance to explore the Cheetah at this years Airventure and we were very impressed with the airplane.

The first thing you notice about the Cheetah, besides the price, is the armrest. This little feat of ergonomics makes the small plane feel surprisingly comfortable, even with the doors off. Another benefit to the Cheetah is the many engine options, from Rotax to Jabiru you can select the engine that suits you and your budget best. The next thing you'd probably notice is the unique fabric covering the Cheetah. The material reminds you of an ultralight's wing covering and it even zips off for inspection in some places.

This well constructed little SLSA rolls out the door at a well equipped $60K, which is below most of the other SLSA's on our LSA comparison page. Midwest Sport Aviation is the US distributor for the aircraft that is manufactured by Rainbow Aircraft in South Africa. Available as both a kit and fully assembled airplane, we're looking forward to them bringing some actual affordability to the SLSA market!!

Thanks Jon!!
