Kentucky's Run on a Runway Roaring Success!
We mentioned last week that Lexington, Kentucky's Blue Grass Airport (KLEX) would be hosting a rare opportunity by opening its brand new runway to the public.
According to the Lexington Herald-Leader, this event was a huge success with about 15,000 people in attendance!
I though this would be a great chance to help familiarize the community with their local airport and get them excited about aviation. I had no idea they would get such an impressive turn-out. This is definitely an example of the creativity and planning that can help promote General Aviation throughout the country and world. Congratulations and thanks to the organizers from 2nd Sunday and Blue Grass Airport, thanks for being an awesome example for the rest of us! We hope you continue to enjoy your new runway.
