About Jason

I'm currently employed as a military aviator, but I stay involved in as many areas of aviation as I can.

Lately, this means flying and instructing in gliders with the Coastal Soaring Assocation at 83J. I also fly with the Pensacola Composite Squadron of Florida's Civil Air Patrol wing.

Since I can't get as much flying as I want at work, I've always wanted to own an airplane, it's nearly impossible to find a taildragger to rent, and I have a very sweet wife, she recently allowed me to buy her an airplane. N5792C is our "brand new" 1950 C-170A. It's a great aircraft and a lot of fun to fly. We're looking forward to taking it around the country. If you see us, please come over and say 'Hi.'

So far, my two favorite types of flying are: low-level formation flying through the canyons of Big Bend National Park at 400+ mph, and thermalling a single-seat open cockpit glider at about 40 mph.

Outside of flying, I studied Computer Engineering in college and I just finished a Masters in Human Factors Psychology via distance learning through the University of Idaho. I plan to apply this combination of degrees to flight instruction and maybe aircraft design someday.

Please feel free to send any questions or comments my way.
