Welcome to AviationBull, and thanks for stopping by. We designed this site to be a place where folks can discuss current events in aviation, so please feel free to look around and drop a couple of comments on the articles we've written. Make sure to stop by our projects page and our popular LSA comparison page to see what we've got cooking there. We're always looking for feedback to make the site better as well, so if you've got suggestions for a story, or just want to say hi you can send us a note here. Thanks for reading AviationBull, where pilots go to shoot the bull...
About Jason
I'm currently employed as a military aviator, but I stay involved in as many areas of aviation as I can.
Lately, this means flying and instructing in gliders with the Coastal Soaring Assocation at 83J. I also fly with the Pensacola Composite Squadron of Florida's Civil Air Patrol wing.
Since I can't get as much flying as I want at work, I've always wanted to own an airplane, it's nearly impossible to find a taildragger to rent, and I have a very sweet wife, she recently allowed me to buy her an airplane. N5792C is our "brand new" 1950 C-170A. It's a great aircraft and a lot of fun to fly. We're looking forward to taking it around the country. If you see us, please come over and say 'Hi.'
So far, my two favorite types of flying are: low-level formation flying through the canyons of Big Bend National Park at 400+ mph, and thermalling a single-seat open cockpit glider at about 40 mph.
Outside of flying, I studied Computer Engineering in college and I'm working on a Masters in Human Factors Psychology via distance learning through the University of Idaho. I plan to apply this combination of degrees to flight instruction and maybe aircraft design someday.
Please feel free to send any questions or comments my way.
Jason
